Dry Ice Blasting is a non-abrasive alternative

Dry ice blasting is a non-abrasive alternative to traditional sand blasting which is highly abrasive, messy and particularly damaging to ancient wooden beams and panels. Dry ice blasting is more of a gentle process, does not use chemicals, abrasive media, water or steam. The process doesn’t leave any water residue, meaning it can also be used indoors, or to clean electrical and mechanical components where the use of water or chemicals is not suitable.

As the frozen Co2 and compressed air hits a surface, it sublimates on impact, evaporating back into the atmosphere and therefore doesn’t create any secondary waste, reducing clean up time and production shutdowns when working in an industrial environment.

Using this method will remove all unwanted paints or other unwanted coatings back to the original material beneath without causing any damage to the surface.
